Import data
Bring your existing contacts and patients into decavet from another system.
Moving from another system? The Import data tool brings your existing contacts and patients into decavet so you don't start from scratch.
Prerequisites: Admin role, and an export file from your old system.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Import data.
- Choose what you're importing (contacts, patients).
- Upload your file and follow the prompts to match your columns to decavet's fields.
- Review the preview, then run the import.
You'll know it worked when…
Your imported contacts appear in Contacts and patients in Patients, connected as expected.
Tip: Import contacts first, then patients — patients connect to the owners they belong to, so the owners need to exist first.
Important: Do a small test import before a big one. Check a handful of records came in correctly, then import the rest.
