Stock & locations
Receive stock, adjust counts, and track inventory across truck and shelf locations.
decavet tracks how much of each item you have on hand and where it is — useful when stock lives in a truck, a clinic shelf, and a backup store at once.
Prerequisites: the inventory item exists. Set up locations under Settings → Inventory locations.
Set up locations
- Go to Settings → Inventory locations.
- Add the places you hold stock (e.g., "Truck", "Clinic shelf").
- Mark one as the default for new stock, and mark any unused ones inactive.
- Save.
Receive stock
- Open the item from Inventory.
- Choose to receive stock.
- Enter the quantity, the location it's going to, and optionally the lot number, expiry, and cost.
- Save — on-hand quantity goes up.
Adjust stock
For recounts, breakage, waste, or expiry:
- Open the item and choose to adjust (or record waste / a cycle count).
- Enter the change and a reason.
- Save.
Stock history
Each item keeps a running ledger of everything that happened to it — received, dispensed on visits, adjusted, expired, transferred — so you can see where stock went.
You'll know it worked when…
The item's on-hand count reflects what you received and adjusted, broken down by location, and dispensing on visits reduces it automatically.
Tip: Receiving stock into the right location keeps your truck and shelf counts separate, so you know what to restock before heading out.
