Stock & locations

Receive stock, adjust counts, and track inventory across truck and shelf locations.

decavet tracks how much of each item you have on hand and where it is — useful when stock lives in a truck, a clinic shelf, and a backup store at once.

Prerequisites: the inventory item exists. Set up locations under Settings → Inventory locations.

Set up locations

  1. Go to Settings → Inventory locations.
  2. Add the places you hold stock (e.g., "Truck", "Clinic shelf").
  3. Mark one as the default for new stock, and mark any unused ones inactive.
  4. Save.

Receive stock

  1. Open the item from Inventory.
  2. Choose to receive stock.
  3. Enter the quantity, the location it's going to, and optionally the lot number, expiry, and cost.
  4. Save — on-hand quantity goes up.

Adjust stock

For recounts, breakage, waste, or expiry:

  1. Open the item and choose to adjust (or record waste / a cycle count).
  2. Enter the change and a reason.
  3. Save.

Stock history

Each item keeps a running ledger of everything that happened to it — received, dispensed on visits, adjusted, expired, transferred — so you can see where stock went.

You'll know it worked when…

The item's on-hand count reflects what you received and adjusted, broken down by location, and dispensing on visits reduces it automatically.

Tip: Receiving stock into the right location keeps your truck and shelf counts separate, so you know what to restock before heading out.
