Record measurements

Track a patient's weight and vitals over time so you can see trends at a glance.

decavet keeps a running history of a patient's measurements — weight and other vitals — so you can see how an animal is trending, not just its latest reading. The most recent weight floats up to the top of the patient record.

Prerequisites: the patient exists.

Steps

  1. Open the patient from Patients.
  2. Find the measurements section on the detail page.
  3. Click to record a measurement.
  4. Enter the value and choose the unit (for weight, kg or lbs).
  5. The reading is timestamped automatically; adjust the date if you're back-filling an earlier one.
  6. Click Save.

You'll know it worked when…

The new reading appears in the measurements history, and the patient's current weight updates to the latest value.

Tip: Record a weight at each visit. Over time the history becomes a trend you can use for dosing and to spot weight loss or gain early.
