Service catalog

Build your menu of billable services with prices and note templates.

Your service catalog is the menu of things you charge for — exams, vaccines, procedures, call-out fees. When you record a service on a visit, it pulls from this list, filling in the name, price, and any default notes.

Prerequisites: Admin or appropriate permission. decavet seeds a starter catalog for equine practices that you can edit.

Add or edit a service

  1. Go to Settings → Service catalog.
  2. Click to add a service (or click an existing one to edit).
  3. Fill in:
    • Name and a client-facing display name.
    • A category (Exams, Vaccines, Surgery, etc.) — see Categories.
    • The default price.
    • Whether it's taxable.
    • Default notes — internal and client-facing text that pre-fills when the service is added to a visit. See Clinical notes.
  4. Save.

Note templates and template fields

Default notes save typing on common services. For structured, fill-in-the-blank notes, define reusable template fields under Settings → Template fields, then attach them to a service.

You'll know it worked when…

The service appears in your catalog and shows up in the picker when you add a service to a visit, with the right price and notes.

Important: Replace the seeded placeholder prices with your real prices before invoicing. decavet reminds you on the dashboard until you do.
