What each team role — Admin, Veterinarian, Technician, Staff — can do.

Every team member has a role that sets what they can access. decavet has four.

The roles

RoleTypical use
AdminPractice owner or office manager. Full access, including settings, the team, and billing configuration.
VeterinarianA vet doing clinical work — appointments, visits, services, and notes.
TechnicianA tech supporting clinical work and records.
StaffFront-desk / office support.

How access works

Higher roles generally include what lower roles can do, plus more. Admin is the only role that manages practice-wide configuration — settings, inviting members, and billing setup. The clinical roles focus on day-to-day care: scheduling, conducting visits, recording services, and billing the work.

Access is enforced throughout the app, so people see and do what fits their role.

Choosing roles

  • Give Admin only to those who manage the practice and its settings.
  • Use Veterinarian / Technician for clinical team members.
  • Use Staff for reception and office help.

Tip: You can change someone's role at any time on the Members page as their responsibilities change.
