Send & print invoices
Email an invoice to the client or produce a copy to hand over or download.
Once an invoice looks right, get it to the client — by email or as a printable copy.
Prerequisites: a draft invoice; the client has a billing email if you'll email it. For best results, set up Email & sending and Invoice branding first.
Email an invoice
- Open the invoice from Invoices.
- Click Send.
- Review the recipient (the client's billing email), the reply-to, and the subject and message — these come from your email templates and can be edited per send.
- Keep the invoice attached as a PDF.
- (Optional) Use Preview to see exactly what the client will receive.
- Click Send.
The invoice's status moves to Sent.
Print or download
To hand over a paper copy or save a PDF, use the Print / download option on the invoice. This is handy in the field when a client wants something on the spot.
You'll know it worked when…
The invoice shows Sent, and the client receives the email with the PDF attached (or you have a printed/downloaded copy in hand).
Tip: Make sure the client's billing email is set and marked for billing under their contact methods, so the invoice reaches the right inbox.
Reminders and receipts
Your email templates also cover payment reminders and receipts, so follow-ups stay consistent.
