Tax rates
Set up the tax that applies to your invoices.
Set up your tax rate(s) once, and decavet applies tax automatically when you create invoices. See Taxes for how it behaves on an invoice.
Prerequisites: Admin or appropriate permission. Know your jurisdiction's rate(s) and any registration number.
Add a tax rate
- Go to Settings → Tax rates.
- Add a rate with a clear name (e.g., "Sales Tax", "GST").
- Enter the percentage.
- Record your tax registration number if you have one (it can appear on invoices).
- Save.
You can add more than one rate if your area requires it, and assign rates to specific items or categories where needed.

Creating a new invoice with taxable items shows a tax line at the correct rate.
Important: Set your rates before you start invoicing. Tax is snapshotted onto each invoice when it's created, so getting it right up front avoids re-issuing bills later.
