Statuses

What each appointment, visit, invoice, and payment status means.

A quick reference to the statuses you'll see across decavet.

Appointment status

The state of a trip.

StatusMeaning
ScheduledBooked, not yet started.
En routeYou're on your way.
In progressYou've arrived and work is underway.
CompletedThe trip is done.
CancelledThe trip won't happen.

Visit status

The state of one animal's encounter within a trip.

StatusMeaning
ScheduledPlanned for the trip.
En routeOn the way to this animal.
In progressCurrently being seen.
CompletedDone; ready to bill.
No-showThe animal wasn't presented.
CancelledThis visit won't happen.

Invoice status

An invoice's state combines where you are in sending it with what's been paid.

StatusMeaning
DraftCreated, still editable, not sent.
SentIssued to the client.
PartialSome payment applied, balance remains.
PaidFully paid.
OverduePast its due date with a balance owing.
VoidCancelled; not owed.
Written offAn unpaid balance you've chosen not to collect.

Estimates use their own states — Accepted, Declined, Expired — and credit-related states appear when credits or credit notes are involved.

Note: The paid-related states (Partial, Paid, Overdue) are worked out from the payments applied — you don't set them by hand.

Payment method & type

When you record a payment:

  • Methods: Cash, Credit Card, Debit, Check, E-Transfer, Online, Other.
  • Types: Payment, Deposit, Prepayment, Refund, Account credit.
