Statuses
What each appointment, visit, invoice, and payment status means.
A quick reference to the statuses you'll see across decavet.
Appointment status
The state of a trip.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Booked, not yet started. |
| En route | You're on your way. |
| In progress | You've arrived and work is underway. |
| Completed | The trip is done. |
| Cancelled | The trip won't happen. |
Visit status
The state of one animal's encounter within a trip.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Planned for the trip. |
| En route | On the way to this animal. |
| In progress | Currently being seen. |
| Completed | Done; ready to bill. |
| No-show | The animal wasn't presented. |
| Cancelled | This visit won't happen. |
Invoice status
An invoice's state combines where you are in sending it with what's been paid.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created, still editable, not sent. |
| Sent | Issued to the client. |
| Partial | Some payment applied, balance remains. |
| Paid | Fully paid. |
| Overdue | Past its due date with a balance owing. |
| Void | Cancelled; not owed. |
| Written off | An unpaid balance you've chosen not to collect. |
Estimates use their own states — Accepted, Declined, Expired — and credit-related states appear when credits or credit notes are involved.
Note: The paid-related states (Partial, Paid, Overdue) are worked out from the payments applied — you don't set them by hand.
Payment method & type
When you record a payment:
- Methods: Cash, Credit Card, Debit, Check, E-Transfer, Online, Other.
- Types: Payment, Deposit, Prepayment, Refund, Account credit.
